Biographical note of the Editor-in-Chief:
Santolo Meo received B.S. and M.S. degrees with honours from FEDERICO II University of Naples - Italy, where currently He is a full professor.
His research is in the field of power electronics, control of electrical drives and energy conversion. Prof. Meo has been the thesis supervisor of about 100 theses in power electronics for students of Master of electrical degree and PhD students. He is international supervisor and foreign examiner for the evaluation of the PhD thesis for many european and indian universities.
Since the year 2002 the teaching activity of prof. Meo has been present in many courses for students of Master of electrical degree and for students of Master of mechanical degree of Federico II University (Electric drives for automation, Converters and electric drives, Fundamental of power electronics, railway propulsion, dynamic of electrical converters).

Prof. Meo is author of over 150 publications in scientific journals and proceedings of international conferences in the field of power electronics (h-index #24 –at June, 2018).

- Analysis and design of new soft-switching converters (ac-dc, dc-dc and dc-ac) for renewable energy conversion and automotive applications;
- Energy management strategies for automotive applications (traditional, pure electric and hybrid electric vehicles);

- Modeling and control of power electronic converters.
- He is a Senior Member IEEE - International Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
- He is Editor-In-Chief of the Scientific Committee of the international journal entitled International Review of Electrical Engineering (IREE) (indicized SCOPUS);
- He is Editor-In-Chief of the Scientific Committee of the international journal entitled International Review on Modelling and Simulations (IREMOS) (indicized SCOPUS);
- He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Transaction on Electrical Energy Systems;
- He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Photoenergy;
- He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal on Energy Conversion (IRECON);

- Since 2010 He is a member of the Commission appointed by the Prefect of Naples for the Supervision of public events as an expert electrician;
-He is a member of the Board of Directors of ADISURC, (Campania Region ITALY) for the education claim;
- He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the competence center of the Campania Region TEST (Technology, Environment, Safety, Transport);
- He has been and is responsible for numerous consulting agreements on issues related to the use of alternative energies, and on issues relating to transport;
- He has been registered since 1992 to the Order of Engineers of the Province of Naples;
- He has been a member of Journalists of the Campania Region.
- He has been member of the Academic Senate of the University of Naples Federico II for 7 for academic years;
- He was a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Naples Federico II for 6 academic years (2006-2012);
- He was a representative of the researchers (assistant professor) in the Engineering Faculty board for 6 academic years (1995-2001);
- He has been delegated to the Rector to sign the diplomas of graduates qualified to practice at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II;
- He was a representative of the researchers (assistant professors) in the Engineering Department Board for 6 academic years (1995-2001);
- He was a representative of the associate professors in the Engineering Department Board for 6 academic years (2006-2012).
