Abstract

The impact of a water drop is considered to be an elastic contact interaction. This interaction causes plastic deformations. The stress-strain state and loading characteristics are determined using the theory of elasticity and computer mathematics. The formula for droplet’s velocity that gives rise to the erosion is derived.
