Comparative Apodized Surfaces Acoustics Waves Filters Applied to IF-TV Amplifier

Abstract


This paper presents different analytical approaches for modeling a surface acoustic wave Band pass filter, developed as an alternative to conventional filters based on RLC components. For reasons due to computational applications in our implementation, we suggest a direct application to a television receiver IF stage (intermediate frequency). To this purpose, we shall be using a model based on discrete sources method. Various cases of configurations as well as impulse responses are presented and compared for transducers having different fingers lengths and equally fingers spacing. The first type of suggested filter is made up of an input transducer (apodized) and an output transducer having a single pair of fingers. The second type consists of an identical input and output transducers. Finally, the third filter is composed of two input transducers connected in parallel and an output transducer.
