Mathematical and Numerical Modeling of Desalination of Seawater

Abstract


The lack of the soft water resources has become an essential problem in lately due to the intense increase of the population and the irregularity of the precipitation as well as the influence of the global warming. This work is dedicated to develop a study which consists in establishing a digital code to simulate the purification of the sea water to have a soft water necessary for the domestic and industrial use. A mathematical model corresponding to the process of desalination of the sea water was implanted to simulate the technique of the thermal distillation applied to a solar distiller plan. We used   the finite difference method implicit scheme to solve the coupled and not linear equations of heat. The results of the simulation allow arresting the separation of the salt particles of the water.
